Our primary project is the funding and support of Andrew House in Clevedon.

Andrew House provides accommodation and support for men recovering from addiction.  The building is owned by Changing Lives Charity and the support service operated by Alabaré Christian Care and Support.  We see many lives transformed during their stay in Andrew House and because so many are now living independent lives in the community, Changing Lives Charity is determined that this work continues and a supported home of the highest standard is provided.

Changing Lives Charity plays a crucial role in working with Alabaré in ensuring that the funding is in place to provide the support service.  Some of the residents volunteer with Changing Lives (our social enterprise) and join in with fundraising events, and so are contributing to their own support, as well as their recovery.

SUPPORTED TRAINING AND EMPLOYMENT

Changing Lives Charity provides training and employment opportunities for men and women who face barriers and are finding the process of getting into work difficult for whatever reason.  We recognise the difficulties of engaging in employment, training and education when addiction, mental health issues or other life challenging events have caused long term problems. As a charity, we have a registered Christian counsellor who is available for staff and volunteers at Changing Lives, and also for the residents at Andrew House. We believe that to gain long term and sustainable independent living, every aspect of a person’s life needs support.

In 2017 we acquired the Changing Lives business, which means we now have even more opportunities to provide supported training in a wide range of work-related skills.  From retail customer service, warehouse work, logistics, upcycling pre-used furniture, as well as business administration and more, we can help people explore other training and education opportunities as they work towards independent living.
